After extensive testing, 9 different prototypes, and the continuous search for detailed solutions, the Golf 7R exhaust system, both post-cat and post-turbo, is now tested and available for order. The system has a diameter of 76mm or 89mm and is #HANDMADE_IN_GERMANY#! The mufflers are made from V4A perforated pipe and perforated sheet metal, all produced in-house. Each system is manually TIG welded and formed.

With the valve closed, the exhaust gases are routed through the sophisticated muffler system, and the sound is broken and absorbed to a level close to the stock system. The system is designed to work without chambers, allowing full performance to be maintained even with the valve closed. This has been tested and verified on our in-house all-wheel drive dynamometer.

With the valve open, the system has a diameter of 76mm and is designed to handle power outputs well beyond 500PS, while with the valve closed, the 63.5mm diameter is still sufficient to run 360PS without measurable backpressure.

After many tests with electric valves, it became clear that a single valve could not generate enough force to resist the exhaust pressure from the R engine while idling or during acceleration. The result was unpleasant noises and annoying rattling of the valves (like stock) in the closed position at idle and during driving. To address this, we developed a new system with 2 valves and a muffler that eliminates all disturbing noises and gives the R a true "PRIUS mode" when the valve is closed. Measurements showed that the system is quieter with the valve closed than stock, making the entire setup much more pleasant to drive daily. No drone is experienced inside the cabin, as it is fully absorbed by the system. The vacuum valves are automatically controlled by our CAN system.

PRE-FACELIFT
The valves close at speeds of 0-10 km/h and 45-80 km/h. In Race Mode, the valves open outside of this range at 2000 rpm; in Comfort Mode, they open at 4000 rpm.

FACELIFT
The valves close at speeds of 0-80 km/h. In Race Mode, the valves open outside of this range at 2000 rpm; in Comfort Mode, they open at 4000 rpm.

The "sliding rattle" is a feature the R has in Race Mode stock, but it is only active in Race Mode, so this fun little feature can be turned on or off... THANK YOU, VW!
