The sporty BMW 6-cylinder models equipped with the legendary B58 engine are especially sought-after among BMW enthusiasts. With a 3.0L displacement, an almost indestructibly robust engine, turbocharging, and rear-wheel drive, these are the ingredients for an overwhelming driving experience. Of course, a sporty sound at the push of a button is a must.
The DTH valved exhaust system takes over right at the downpipe, routing the exhaust gases without constrictions directly to the exhaust valve and from there out through the ceramic-coated tailpipes.
The piping was optimized using CAD so that it integrates seamlessly into the vehicle’s underbody. At the height of the rear axle differential, the piping is equipped with thermal insulation derived from motorsport, which protects surrounding components from radiant heat.
The exhaust system for the BMW M140i (GPF) was tested by TÜV SÜD and comes to you with ECE approval – no registration required. All you have to do is install the system and carry the ECE certificate.

Why DTH?
The market is flooded with suppliers and exhaust systems from various manufacturers. So where are the differences?
We have been producing exhaust systems in-house since 2009 — and when we say "in-house", we mean the entire process.
Silencers and Materials:
The silencers of every DTH system are rolled from stainless steel (VA) sheets, embossed with the distinctive star pattern, and longitudinally seam-welded.
The interior of silencers is exposed to the harshest conditions: burning 1 liter of fuel produces roughly 1 liter of acidic water, which attacks components like perforated pipes and causes corrosion.
Standard stainless steel (V2A) is resistant to water but not to acid!
That’s why we’re one of the few manufacturers that produce our perforated pipes in-house using V4A stainless steel, which is acid-resistant.
Sound:
In combination with the silencer material, we use a special sound-absorbing material that can withstand temperatures up to 1100°C.
Together with the silencer design, this results in a unique sound.

Craftsmanship:
All DTH systems are 100% TIG welded. This is the cleanest and most precise welding process. A manually guided tungsten electrode melts the material, while a shielding gas protects the weld from oxygen. Additional filler metal is manually added to create strong, durable welds connecting pipes, valves, and mufflers.
But there’s a downside:
On the inside of the welded pipe, there’s no shielding gas unless special steps are taken. Without this, the inner welds can oxidize, leading to corrosion and reduced durability.
To counteract this, we seal the system with special silicone plugs and fill it with argon gas. This creates a protective atmosphere inside the system as well. The result? Welds that are gold-colored inside and out, strong, and corrosion-resistant.
This process is called "forming" – and while it’s not cheap, it’s the foundation for welds built to last a lifetime.
