The REAPER V4 valve exhaust system for the Skoda VRS perfectly complements the sporty character of the VRS. By allowing the valves of the system to open and close depending on the driving profile, the VRS can be used as an everyday family car but can unleash 180KW+ and goosebumps-inducing sound at the push of a button.

The exhaust system is handcrafted by us, including all components, welded and formed to meet the highest quality standards.

Thanks to the patented DTH double-valve technology, the VRS remains quiet and suitable for long distances when the valve is closed.

Control
Since the standard valve control does not meet the legal limit values, we retrofit a CAN bus-controlled valve system. We integrate it into the CAN module in the footwell using a special adapter, capturing signals such as speed, load, and driving profile to control the valves in accordance with legal requirements.

How and When the Valve Opens
We develop the control of the exhaust valves for each vehicle individually to ensure compliance with legal limits and requirements, while also allowing the vehicle to release maximum sound and performance at the push of a button and switching the driving profile.

- The exhaust valves are closed when stationary to comply with regulations.
- In ECO and Comfort mode, the valves open only at 4000 rpm, allowing for discreet and comfortably quiet driving even at high speeds on the highway.
- In RACE / SPORT mode, the valves close only within the legal limits when stationary and in 3rd to 7th gear at 20-80 km/h. In 2nd gear, the valve is open (no measurement area) / outside 20-80 km/h, the valves are open. Measurements on the highway showed a reduction in exhaust back pressure by over 100 mbar.

 Why DTH?
The market is full of providers and exhaust systems from various manufacturers. What are the differences?

We have been manufacturing exhaust systems in-house since 2009, and when we say complete, we mean it.

Mufflers and Material:
The mufflers of each DTH system are rolled from VA sheet metal, embossed with the distinctive stars, and then longitudinally welded. The interiors of the mufflers are subject to the greatest environmental influences. During the combustion of 1 liter of fuel, approximately 1 liter of acidic water is produced, which attacks the interiors of the mufflers, such as the perforated pipes, causing them to corrode and rust. While V2A is resistant to water, it is not resistant to acid! Therefore, we are one of the few manufacturers to make our perforated pipes from V4A sheet metal.

Sound:
Along with the muffler material, we use a special insulating material that is temperature-resistant up to 1100 degrees, which, combined with the muffler construction, generates a unique sound.

Processing:
DTH systems are 100% TIG welded. In this cleanest and finest of all welding processes, an arc burns between a hand-guided TIG torch with a tungsten needle and the material to be welded, melting it. To prevent the material from burning, a technical gas flows from the nozzle of the TIG torch, protecting the weld seam from oxygen. Into this weld pool of glowing liquid gold, additional material is added by hand, forming a seam that eternally connects the pipes, exhaust valves, and mufflers. However, there is also a downside. Inside the welded pipes, there is no shielding gas atmosphere, and the glowing seam from the outside can burn under the influence of oxygen, causing it to rust over time and weaken the durability of the seam. To counteract this, we seal the systems with special silicone plugs and fill the entire system with argon. Now there is also a shielding gas atmosphere inside, and the seams do not burn but remain gold-colored inside and out. This not entirely inexpensive process is called forming, the foundation for rust-free, stable weld seams of eternity.

System:

We develop our exhaust systems on our in-house all-wheel performance test bench as part of a performance package. The systems can generally be complemented with a downpipe with higher throughput/thermal insulation and a modified intake. This is rounded off by custom programming/tuning on the test bench. We do not develop downpipes/exhaust systems as individual components but so that the legal requirements are met in combination with downpipe/intake/performance increase, allowing for the registration of all components as a whole. For this, the systems are extensively tested on the test bench and presented to the TÜV and in the emission laboratory.
